Itinerary of the Sacred Valley Tour with Machu Picchu 2 Days

The Sacred Valley Tour with Machu Picchu 2 Days combines archaeological visits, Andean landscapes, a train journey, and a guided experience in Machu Picchu. The route is organized over two days to explore the Sacred Valley VIP before arriving in Machu Picchu Pueblo and visiting the Inca citadel the following day.

Day 1: Sacred Valley VIP and train to Machu Picchu Pueblo

Pickup in Cusco: we will start the tour with pickup from your hotel between 6:35 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. to begin the route toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Chinchero: the first visit of the day. You will discover its textile tradition, artisan demonstration, pottery, colonial church, and archaeological site. The visit lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

Moray: we will visit its famous circular terraces, considered an ancient Inca agricultural experimentation center where different temperature levels were used.

Maras Salt Mines: you will explore the natural salt ponds worked by local families. This attraction stands out for its more than 3,000 salt ponds spread across the mountainside.

Urubamba: we will continue toward the heart of the Sacred Valley to enjoy a buffet lunch with a variety of Peruvian dishes.

Ollantaytambo: after lunch, we will visit this important Inca archaeological center, recognized for its terraces, stone constructions, and historical value within the Sacred Valley.

Train to Machu Picchu Pueblo: after the visit in Ollantaytambo, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes. The schedule may be approximately 4:36 p.m. or 7:00 p.m., depending on ticket availability.

Arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo: the train ride takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Upon arrival, a representative will meet you at the station and accompany you to the hotel.

Briefing: at night, the local guide will coordinate the details of the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu, including departure time, entrance schedule, and recommendations.


Day 2: Guided visit to Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

Breakfast in Aguas Calientes: we will start the day early to make the most of your visit to Machu Picchu.

Bus to Machu Picchu: you will take the bus up to the entrance of Machu Picchu according to the schedule assigned on your ticket.

Guided tour of Machu Picchu: you will explore the Inca citadel with a professional guide, following the circuit available on your ticket.

Time for photos: you will have time to enjoy the scenery and take photos according to the rules of the assigned circuit.

Return to Aguas Calientes: after the visit, you will return to the town to take the train back.

Train to Ollantaytambo: you will board the tourist train from Aguas Calientes back to Ollantaytambo.

Return to Cusco: upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will continue by tourist transportation to the city of Cusco.
